Battle of Biville-la-Baignarde Scenario

This is a scenario for 1940 "A Day in Hell - Battle of Biville-la-Baignarde” which was first run on 24th January 2026 at our Lardy Day down on the south coast of Hampshire at “Come and have a go if you think you’re LARD enough 2026”.

The scenario covers the actions of the 53e Battalion de Chasseurs Alpins and their fierce defence of the Normandy village of Biville-la-Baignarde from Schützen Regiment 13 on one day - the 10th of June 1940. The aim of this scenario is to highlight the bravery and tenacity of the French Army in the defence of their homeland, this was not a stroll to Paris for the Germans. The German Army incurred more casualties per day in Fall Rot than they did in Fall Gelb, and up to 90,000 Frenchmen would die before the Armistice was signed.

On the day I also offered the players the option of taking an Event Card instead of accumulating a CoC point when on the receiving end of a double phase, these add flavour but are entirely optional and just for fun.

You can find the scenario and optional Event Cards in the Files section.

If you wish you can see the the historical background I have a post here, my scenario design process here and some pictures of the game on the Lardy Day too.

Enjoy!
